Automotive Forecast Lead
Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full-time
Overview
Our client, a major vehicle leasing organisation, is looking for an Automotive Forecast Lead to own quantitative analysis of the automotive market outlook, with a particular focus on used-car residual values.
You’ll provide forecasting and modelling insight that informs pricing, financial provisions, fleet revaluation and financial risk management. The role also coordinates quarterly residual value and fleet revaluation outputs, ensuring assumptions are robust, clearly documented and supported by effective governance.
Responsibilities
- Own the models, assumptions and quantitative processes underpinning the multi-year used-car market outlook.
- Provide analytical input into quarterly residual value and fleet revaluation activity across product lines.
- Develop the analytical narrative around automotive market transition and the economic outlook, identifying implications for residual values, pricing and fleet revaluation.
- Support delivery of the asset risk strategy in line with wider business objectives.
- Work with analysts and pricing colleagues to provide clear insight into economic, industry and automotive market forecasts.
- Ensure forecasting processes meet governance requirements, with clear documentation, audit trails and review processes.
- Build effective relationships across asset risk, leadership teams and the wider business.
- Promote best practice in forecasting, modelling, documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with relevant industry bodies, commentators and experts where appropriate to ensure assumptions reflect external insight and best practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
