Automotive Paint & Refinishing Specialist

Location: Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and skill level

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Automotive Paint & Refinishing Specialist to join our growing vehicle repair team. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes real pride in their work and has a strong eye for colour, finish and detail. You will be responsible for preparing and refinishing vehicles to a consistently high standard, from minor cosmetic repairs through to larger paintwork.

We are looking for someone who understands that quality is in the detail — achieving accurate colour matches, seamless blends and a high-quality finish every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles and panels for painting, including sanding, masking, priming and preparation.
  • Carry out spot repairs, SMART repairs, panel refinishing and full panel painting.
  • Colour match accurately using modern paint systems and colour-matching technology.
  • Carry out blending and fading techniques to achieve seamless repairs.
  • Mix and apply automotive paint, primers, clear coats and other refinishing products.
  • Identify and rectify paint defects, imperfections and finish issues.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of preparation and paint application.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly masked and protected throughout the repair process.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining excellent quality standards.
  • Keep the spray booth, preparation areas and equipment clean, organised and maintained.
  • Follow all health & safety and manufacturer requirements.
  • Work closely with the wider repair team to ensure vehicles are completed to specification and on time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
