Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (Level 2) Apprenticeship at Porsche
This apprenticeship with Porsche provides a unique opportunity to learn about vehicle parts management and customer service within the automotive industry. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about automobiles, with a keen interest in parts identification, inventory management, and providing exceptional customer support.
Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am- 5:30pm
- 40 hours a week
- At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to off-the-job training

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Learn to identify and locate automotive parts using electronic catalogues, manuals, and computer systems
- Assist customers in-person, over the phone, and via email to fulfil their parts requirements and inquiries
- Collaborate with service technicians and mechanics to ensure accurate parts ordering and timely delivery
- Receive, inspect, and organise incoming parts shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and placing replenishment orders as needed
- Utilise point-of-sale systems to process transactions, generate invoices, and manage customer accounts
- Provide product recommendations, technical advice, and pricing information to customers as needed
- Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, striving to achieve satisfactory resolutions
- Uphold company policies and procedures regarding parts sales, returns, and exchanges
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and industry awareness

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
- Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
- Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
- Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
- Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.
- Conducts handover activities.
Training schedule
- Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
- The programme typically lasts 12-14 months dependant on the career path chosen and you'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification
- All of our apprentices are employed through the Dealer Network and attend week-long block training at our state-of-the-art Porsche Training Centre in Slough
- Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules
