Job Description: Senior Automotive Residual Value Expert
Our client is seeking a senior automotive residual value expert to support a strategy engagement for a UK vehicle leasing client with significant exposure to future vehicle values.
The expert will serve as a senior advisor, helping shape and guide the residual value component of the engagement.
The expert should be able to advise on the appropriate methodology, data sources, assumptions, and interpretation of results and translate complex analysis into clear business implications for senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on the overall approach to automotive residual value forecasting and analysis
- Identify the most appropriate external automotive and residual value datasets
- Recommend how different datasets should be combined and which variables should be incorporated
- Guide assumptions, analytical methodology, and modeling approach
- Review and challenge model outputs developed by the consulting team
- Identify key risks, sensitivities, and watchouts affecting future vehicle values
- Translate technical analysis into clear strategic and financial implications
- Provide expert guidance to the consulting team throughout the engagement
- Potentially participate in discussions and working sessions with the client's senior leadership team

Qualifications:
- Significant experience with automotive residual value forecasting – required
- Deep understanding of vehicle leasing, fleet economics, used vehicle values, or automotive asset valuation – required
- Strong knowledge of relevant automotive residual value datasets and data providers – required
- Meaningful knowledge of the UK automotive and used-vehicle market – required
- Experience interpreting residual value models and advising on assumptions, sensitivities, and financial implications
- Experience advising senior executives on vehicle economics, fleet strategy, leasing, or asset valuation – preferred
- Strong ability to translate complex data and analysis into practical executive-level recommendations
- Background with a major vehicle leasing, rental, fleet management, automotive finance, remarketing, or related organization is highly relevant

Project Details:
- Start: Second week of September 2026
- Duration: Approximately 10 weeks
- Time commitment: Approximately 20 total billable days, spread across the engagement
- Location: Primarily remote; potential travel to the UK
