Role Description
The Automotive Technician role at Lookers Land Rover is a full-time, on-site position based in Spennymoor. The technician will carry out routine vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs in line with manufacturer standards. Daily responsibilities include:

The role involves:
- Accurately documenting work
- Using diagnostic equipment
- Collaborating with service advisors and colleagues
- Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment
The technician will also provide clear technical feedback to support excellent customer service and adherence to quality and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and routine servicing, including scheduled checks and inspections.
- Hands-on experience with oil changes and related fluid services.
- Proficiency in automotive repair and general maintenance & repair tasks across various vehicle systems.
- Knowledge of suspension systems, including inspection, diagnosis, and repair of related components.
- Relevant automotive technical qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Experience working in a franchised dealership or professional workshop environment is beneficial.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, follow technical instructions, and work to manufacturer standards.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to safely move and test vehicles.
