Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Automotive Technician role based in Barton-Le-Clay. The Automotive Technician will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine servicing, and carry out repairs on a variety of vehicles, with a particular focus on automatic transmission systems.

- Conducting inspections
- Troubleshooting faults
- Replacing or repairing parts
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
- Maintaining accurate service records
- Using diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
- Communicating clearly with service advisors and customers about vehicle condition and recommended work
- Following workshop procedures
- Keeping the work area organized
- Collaborating with the team to meet service deadlines
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, braking, and electrical components.
- Proficiency in diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data and service manuals.
- Experience performing routine maintenance, repairs, and component replacements in a workshop setting.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and ability to work safely with tools, lifts, and equipment.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in automotive technology or vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Clear communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and explaining technical issues to customers.
- Previous experience working with automatic transmissions or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
- Full, valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
