Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Automotive Thermal Calibration Engineer role based in Gaydon. The engineer will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing thermal calibration parameters for automotive systems, ensuring compliance with performance, efficiency, and safety requirements.

- Planning and executing test programs
- Analyzing thermal data from vehicle and bench tests
- Refining calibration maps for cooling, HVAC, and thermal management systems
The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as powertrain, vehicle dynamics, and software engineering to resolve thermal issues and support product launches. The engineer will document calibration procedures, prepare technical reports, and contribute to continuous improvement of thermal methodologies and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in automotive engineering or mechanical engineering, with specific knowledge of thermal systems, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with calibration tools and software (e.g., INCA, CANape, or similar) and familiarity with vehicle ECUs and control strategies for thermal management.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or Excel, including interpreting test results and generating clear technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle and test bench thermal testing, instrumentation, and debugging of cooling and HVAC systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Gaydon, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant automotive standards, regulations, and environmental test procedures; experience in OEM or tier-1 environments is beneficial.
