Sky Creative is seeking an AV Creative to join our award-winning Sky Creative team.

You'll craft distinctive AV campaigns that champion trusted journalism and bring the most important news stories and public interest moments to audiences with creativity, accuracy and purpose. Sky Creative

As part of Sky’s Consumer Group, Sky Creative provides Advertising, Brand Design and Broadcast Creative for multiple partners across the business. We have recently integrated Sky Works, Sky’s in-house Trading agency to create a fully integrated 360 through-the-line operation.

Our work is varied, from Broadcast Design teams embedded in Sky News to specialist digital performance marketing teams, brand Advertising and Master brand ownership. We are leading the way in an industry-wide trend for in-housing and day in day out we are relentless in raising the standards of our work.

A portfolio of your relevant work is a mandatory requirement for this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Create world-class promos for Sky’s AV projects.
  • Work closely and collaborate with a broad spectrum of teams from journalists to creative editors to bring brilliant ideas to life - whether it’s a 2-minute launch trailer or a shoot-based conceptual idea, the aim is always to tell the story in the best way possible that engages viewers and solidifies Sky News as a UK leader in news coverage.
  • Be able to think through the line and work across multiple channels, territories, and formats while understanding and working to the nuances of multiple established notable brands.
  • Confidently pitch and present ideas to senior creatives and stakeholders.
  • Lead the area to success through proactive engagement of current affairs and proactive creative thinking around upcoming events.
  • Understand and engage with current social/digital trends and know how to integrate them into your creative.
  • Work alongside and be part of a supportive team of Creatives yet have the ability to work independently and lead the workload as necessary.
  • Stay efficient, flexible, and collaborative in the face of any last-minute changes or requests while continuing to push the highest quality creative output.
  • Build relationships across Sky both within creative and beyond to help establish Sky Creative as a trusted and respected voice for Sky News.
  • Be hands on and proactive. Writing, editing, directing, picking up a camera… whatever it takes to get your idea made – whether you’ve been briefed or not!
  • Be an ambassador for Sky Creative, its culture, and ethos by ensuring to be a part of, and help build, a strong, supportive, and effective team that attracts the best industry talent and produces work that gets noticed.
  • Be an active participant in all things Sky Creative.

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in a creative position within a promo team working across promos and social media deliverables.
  • A good understanding of the promo AV workflow, from brief to delivery.
  • The ability to self-shoot high-quality trails and confidently know your way around relevant kit or speak to/work with/direct other broadcast crews as necessary.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of topical current affairs with the ability to tell their stories in a politically impartial and conscientious way.
  • Ability to understand briefs in your respective area.
  • Skills to identify and solve complex problems across projects and workflows.
  • The passion to build a positive environment for the development of the highest quality creative output.
  • Be culturally sensitive to varied audiences and territories and aware of Ofcom regulations.
  • Be flexible in the role within the team and within the company, able to step in on projects where needed, and work to ever-changing timelines.
  • Engaged and enthusiastic team member, proactively sharing ideas and best practice within the team acting as a solid role model for the department.
  • A strong sense of diligence and proactivity that makes the Sky News Creative team an integral part of the process.

How you’ll work

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 3 days in the office per week.

Your office base

Osterley
