The Role

London Business School are looking for an experienced AV ESupport Engineer to provide specialist audio-visual support for events across the School. You will provide customer-facing technical support, advice and troubleshooting across the School’s AV facilities, hybrid teaching spaces, meeting rooms and event environments. You will support the setup and operation of AV systems for teaching and events, including PA systems, microphones, projection, relay screens, audio and video mixing, lecture capture and streaming. You will conduct checks of teaching spaces before sessions, diagnose and resolve technical issues, maintain AV systems and provide support across physical teaching environments, meeting rooms and collaboration spaces. This role would suit someone who combines strong AV technical knowledge with excellent customer service skills, enjoys solving problems in a busy environment, and can communicate technical information clearly to a wide range of users.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide customer-facing support, advice and troubleshooting to staff, faculty, students, executive participants and alumni.
  • Support teaching sessions, hybrid teaching, meetings, collaboration activities and events.
  • Set up and support onsite and offsite events, including PA systems, microphones, projection, relay screens and related AV requirements.
  • Provide live audio and video mixing support where required.
  • Manage and maintain teaching facilities across campus.
  • Diagnose, configure and replace AV systems where required.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networked AV and control system issues.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Certification demonstrating the required level of technical knowledge, such as AVIXA CTS, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience supporting networked AV solutions in a higher education or enterprise environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of AV systems, server architecture and PC/Mac environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting AV, hardware, software and control system issues.
  • Knowledge of common switching, distribution, audio and control system products, including Crestron, AMX and Extron.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans and technical wiring diagrams.
  • Experience supporting video-assisted technology in teaching, including lecture capture and video conferencing.
  • Experience supporting end users with hardware and software such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and OBS.
  • A good technical understanding of video conference standards and protocols.
  • Live event experience, including audio, video and streaming.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a customer-services orientated environment.

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.

The AV Support coverage requirements will now extend across both Park Road and Sammy Ofer from 07:30 to 19:30, seven days a week. To support this, the team will work on a shift pattern consisting of either an early or late shift:

  • Early: 07:30 – 15:30
  • Late: 11:30 – 19:30
  • Two days off per week

As a result, this will include some unsociable hours, along with one or two weekends per month for each Support Engineer.
