Role Description

The AV Project Manager / Audio Visual Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilmslow. This role coordinates and delivers AV projects from planning through completion, including site surveys, system design review, scheduling, and resource allocation. Day-to-day tasks include installing and configuring audio-visual equipment, running and terminating cabling, testing and commissioning systems, and troubleshooting technical issues. The position involves managing project timelines, liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors, and maintaining accurate documentation such as drawings, inventories, and installation reports. The AV Project Manager / Technician also ensures compliance with safety standards, supports handover and basic user training, and contributes to continuous improvement of installation processes.

  • Ability to manage end-to-end AV projects, demonstrating strong Project Management skills and experience overseeing scope, schedule, and resources.
  • Experience with Expediting and Expeditor responsibilities, including tracking orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring materials and equipment arrive on time.
  • Knowledge of Inspection practices related to AV installations, such as verifying quality of work, equipment functionality, and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Skills in Logistics Management, including organizing transport of equipment, managing inventory on-site, and coordinating with suppliers and warehouse teams.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting audio-visual systems (e.g., displays, projectors, speakers, controllers, networked AV devices).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in basic IT/networking concepts relevant to AV (IP addressing, switches, cabling standards) is beneficial.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Relevant technical certification or training in audio visual, electrical, or related fields is an advantage; prior on-site installation experience is highly desirable.
