Role Purpose
The Audio Visual (AV) Rental Sales Executive is responsible for generating and converting sales opportunities for the company's AV equipment and event technology rental services. The role will focus on building relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their event requirements, and providing suitable AV rental solutions.
Working closely with the technical, warehouse, operations, and delivery teams, the successful candidate will help ensure equipment is correctly specified, quoted, and handed over for successful delivery. This is a hands-on sales role suited to someone who is commercially driven, customer-focused, and interested in developing their career within the AV rental and events industry.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities for AV equipment rental and event technology services.
- Respond to incoming sales enquiries and proactively identify new sales opportunities.
- Generate leads through outbound sales activity, networking, referrals, venue relationships, and industry events.
- Research prospective customers and identify opportunities for repeat and ongoing rental business.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
- Follow up enquiries and quotations promptly to maximize conversion.
Customer & Account Management
- Build positive and professional relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer requirements, event details, venue arrangements, equipment needs, and budgets.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers throughout the sales and rental process.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and identify opportunities for repeat bookings.
- Provide a high standard of customer service and respond promptly to queries.
- Develop existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling additional AV equipment and services.
AV Rental Solutions & Quotations
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable AV rental equipment and solutions.
- Prepare accurate quotations for equipment hire, services, delivery, installation, and associated requirements.
- Work with technical colleagues where specialist advice or equipment specification is required.
- Explain proposed AV solutions and rental packages clearly to customers.
- Follow up quotations and negotiate within agreed commercial parameters.
- Ensure quotations accurately reflect the customer's requirements and agreed scope.

Rental & Project Coordination
- Work closely with the warehouse, technical, operations, and delivery teams to support successful equipment rentals.
- Ensure accurate handover of confirmed bookings, including equipment requirements, timings, venue information, and customer expectations.
- Support site visits and pre-event meetings where required.
- Help resolve customer queries or changes to rental requirements before and during the delivery process.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, customer information, and sales activity within the CRM and relevant systems.
Market & Product Knowledge
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's AV rental equipment, services, and solutions.
- Keep up to date with AV equipment, event technology, and industry trends.
- Understand how different AV solutions can support corporate events, conferences, meetings, and other events.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new equipment, services, or solutions to customers.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of agreed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Revenue generated from AV equipment rentals and associated services.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing role.
- Experience within AV rental, events, equipment hire, technology, or a related environment is desirable.
- Experience of working to sales targets or commercial objectives.
- Experience preparing quotations or proposals is desirable.
- A genuine interest in AV, events, and technology and a willingness to develop technical knowledge.

Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Previous AV, events, equipment rental, sales, business, or technology-related qualification.
- AVIXA CTS qualification or relevant AV certification.
