Overview

As Avaloq Key Account Lead within the Synpulse UK Banking practice, you will lead the development of Synpulse’s business with UK banks and wealth managers that use Avaloq. Reporting to the UK Banking Partner, you will combine market development, strategic account leadership and hands-on Avaloq credibility to originate and convert opportunities, expand existing relationships and position Synpulse as a trusted partner for platform transformation, implementation, migration, testing, release upgrades, managed services and change-the-bank initiatives. You will bring together virtual sales, bid and delivery teams across the UK and Synpulse’s international Avaloq network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the UK Avaloq market: identify, qualify and convert opportunities with UK private banks, wealth managers and other financial institutions using Avaloq, building a sustainable pipeline from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation and contract close.
  • Own strategic client relationships: build trusted, long-term relationships with senior business, operations and technology stakeholders; understand their priorities and translate them into relevant Synpulse propositions and measurable client outcomes.
  • Grow existing accounts: work with account and delivery leaders to identify cross- and upselling opportunities across Avaloq transformation, implementation, migration, architecture, integration, testing, release upgrades, application management and managed services.
  • Lead bids and proposals: shape opportunity strategy, value propositions, solution scope, commercials and delivery models; coordinate responses to RFPs and other client requests and lead senior pitch situations.
  • Mobilise virtual teams: bring together the right sales, subject-matter, bid and delivery capabilities from the UK and Synpulse’s international Avaloq network, establishing clear ownership and maintaining momentum without relying on formal line authority.
  • Connect sales and delivery: remain engaged through mobilisation and delivery, support effective handovers, monitor client satisfaction and commercial health, and help address risks or escalations early.
  • Strengthen market visibility: represent Synpulse at relevant industry and Avaloq events, develop executive-level points of view and campaigns, and use market intelligence to create demand and open new relationships.
  • Develop differentiated offerings: translate UK client needs and market feedback into repeatable propositions and packaged services, working with consulting, technology and product teams to refine positioning and go-to-market plans.
  • Manage commercial performance: maintain accurate pipeline and account plans, provide clear forecasts, and contribute to revenue, margin and growth objectives in line with Synpulse governance.
  • Build capability and community: share market and Avaloq knowledge, coach colleagues involved in pursuits and accounts, and contribute to the growth of the UK Banking and wider Avaloq practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
