Founded in 2011, Kartesia Asset Finance (KAF) is a specialist asset-backed financing platform providing senior secured debt to support the growth capex of European SMEs. With €850 million of assets under management, KAF combines the expertise and resources of an established investment platform with the agility and entrepreneurial culture of a focused team. Fully integrated within the broader Kartesia platform, KAF complements Kartesia’s private debt activities, which have deployed over €8 billion across nine European offices.
Role Overview
KAF is seeking an experienced Investment Manager, Aviation to lead the origination, execution, and management of aviation investment opportunities. This is a highly commercial role requiring strong business development capabilities, an established industry network, and the ability to identify and convert attractive investment opportunities into completed transactions.

Key Responsibilities
- Leverage and expand relationships with aircraft owners, operators, lessors, arrangers, brokers, and advisors to generate a robust pipeline of proprietary or lightly intermediated opportunities aligned with KAF’s investment strategy.
- Actively promote KAF within the aviation market, maintain a strong understanding of industry dynamics, and identify emerging opportunities.
- Encompass full transaction responsibility, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities through due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Lead financial and commercial analyses, coordinate advisors, assess technical and counterparty risks, and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Actively manage a portfolio of aviation investments, monitoring asset and counterparty performance, ensuring compliance with financing terms, and identifying opportunities to enhance value through refinancing, restructuring, or portfolio optimisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, lessees, operators, and other stakeholders to drive long-term investment performance.

Qualifications & Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in aviation finance, asset finance, shipping investment banking, leasing.
- Proven origination track record, with strong relationships across the aviation ecosystem.
- Experience sourcing, leading, and closing complex transactions across cycles.
- Credibility and standing within the aviation community in London or other major hubs.
- Experience with asset-backed finance investments, leasing platforms, private debt funds, or alternative credit structures.
- Ability to operate autonomously and make sound commercial judgements.
