Aviation Associate – 2–4 PQE

Location: London

A leading international law firm is looking to hire an Aviation Associate at 2–4 PQE to join its highly regarded aviation practice in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aviation lawyer looking to develop their career within a sophisticated, international team advising some of the key players across the global aviation industry.

The Opportunity

The team advises a broad range of clients including airlines, aircraft lessors, banks and financial institutions, manufacturers, insurers, and other major aviation businesses on complex and high-value matters.

The role will provide exposure to a broad range of aviation work, with a particular focus on aircraft finance, leasing, and related commercial transactions. Depending on your experience, you may also have the opportunity to work on wider aviation commercial and regulatory matters.

  • Operating and finance leases
  • Sale and leaseback transactions
  • Aircraft and component financing

  • Maintenance and engine support arrangements
  • Wet leases, charter arrangements, and ground handling
  • Regulatory and wider aviation matters

The London team also works closely with the firm's international aviation and disputes practices, providing the opportunity for genuine cross-border exposure and collaboration across jurisdictions.

About You

We are looking for a UK-qualified solicitor with approximately 2–4 years' PQE and experience within aviation, asset finance, or a closely related practice.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in aviation finance, aircraft leasing, or asset finance
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience working on sophisticated, cross-border transactions
  • The ability to manage matters effectively and work closely with clients
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within aviation
  • Excellent academics and strong technical ability

The team would also consider lawyers with a strong asset finance background and a genuine interest in moving further into aviation.
