Aviation Stores Inspector – Northern Ireland
Location: Northern Ireland
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37 hours per week
Security Clearance: SC clearance required prior to starting
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading maintenance organisation for an experienced Aviation Stores Inspector to join their team in Northern Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused aviation stores professional with experience in a regulated aerospace environment, particularly candidates with CAA Part 145 experience.
Due to the nature of the contract, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and hold UK Security Check (SC) clearance before commencing employment.
The Role
As an Aviation Stores Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring aircraft parts, tooling, consumables and customer-owned stock are accurately inspected, controlled, stored and issued in accordance with company procedures and applicable aviation, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Logistics & Stores Manager and wider operational team, you will be responsible for goods-inwards inspections, inventory control, shelf-life management and compliant dispatch activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, locate and issue aircraft parts, tooling and consumables.
- Carry out goods-inwards inspections and verify deliveries against relevant documentation and purchase requirements.
- Ensure aviation parts and stock are correctly identified, labelled and recorded within the inventory management system.
- Maintain accurate stock records and complete inventory transactions.
- Control company tooling and maintain associated tooling databases.
- Manage customer-owned stock, consumables, COSHH cupboards and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Monitor and manage shelf-life-controlled items.
- Carry out stocktakes and investigate discrepancies where required.
- Maintain secure, clean, safe and well-organised aviation stores areas.
- Prepare dispatch documentation and ensure goods, including dangerous goods where applicable, are correctly packaged and labelled.
- Support import and export activities in line with current HMRC requirements and company procedures.
- Operate forklift equipment where required.
- Work in accordance with company safety standards, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Attend training at Bournemouth when required.
- Undertake other reasonable duties relevant to the role.

About You
We are looking for an organised, reliable and highly detail-focused aviation stores professional with previous experience working within a regulated aerospace or aviation environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous aviation stores/storekeeping experience.
- Experience conducting goods-inwards inspections within an aerospace or aviation environment.
- CAA Part 145 experience.
- Experience working with aircraft parts, tooling and/or aviation consumables.
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- The ability to follow detailed procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- The confidence to work independently and use initiative.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to successfully obtain SC Security Clearance prior to starting.

SC Security Clearance is required before employment can commence. Candidates must be able to meet the relevant eligibility requirements and successfully obtain the required clearance prior to starting the role.
