Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment are currently working with a leading rotary organisation to recruit an experienced Avionics Manager to join their established engineering operation in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2 engineer with strong leadership and certification experience to take responsibility for avionics maintenance, component activity and technical support across a range of modern rotary aircraft.

The Opportunity

As Avionics Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

You will be responsible for the certification of maintenance and repairs, whilst providing leadership to the avionics team and technical support to engineers and customers.

The role will include responsibility for a variety of modern rotary aircraft, including the H125, H135, H145 and H160.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staff adherence to company standards, engineering practices and internal policies
  • Support production planning and workflow management
  • Supervise the battery workshop and other component activities in accordance with company approvals
  • Liaise with Part 21 functions to support engineering and certification requirements
  • Inspect components and issue UK CAA Form 1 documentation where authorised
  • Provide technical support to regional engineers and customers
  • Manage MGS and other associated maintenance software systems
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with applicable regulatory and company requirements
  • Promote a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture within the team

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced rotary maintenance professional with strong avionics knowledge and proven leadership capability.

You will ideally have:

  • Part 66 B2 Licence with C certifying privileges
  • Type ratings covering EC135/H135 and EC145/H145 as a minimum
  • H160 and single-group experience would be highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft engine and airframe systems
  • Excellent knowledge of UK CAA regulatory requirements
  • Previous experience supervising or leading an engineering team
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing operational requirements
  • A professional and highly presentable approach

Qualifications & Training

Essential:

  • Part 66 B2 Licence with C certifying privileges

Desirable:

  • Degree-level qualification in an aircraft maintenance or engineering-related discipline

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of the position, successful applicants will be required to undergo DBS security clearance and must be eligible to obtain SC clearance.

Applicants must also meet any applicable Export Control and Compliance requirements.
