Avionics Manufacturing and Assembly Role

This role will support the Avionics Manufacturing and Assembly Team with the ongoing production of avionics items, the installation of avionics onto aircraft, and support during the commissioning process of new aircraft. The role will include the repair and basic rework of incoming items as well as following testing programs to return the items to service.

The candidate will be expected to be comfortable working within an electronics assembly space as part of a larger production line for the Windracers ULTRA vehicles. They will be part of a small team responsible for the overall delivery of avionics for the product and will be comfortable moving from task to task throughout the manufacturing process. There will be work both following standard engineering drawings and specifications, as well as work that is less defined where the candidate can input their prior knowledge and expertise.

The role will involve both bench based, and standing work, as well as opportunities to work away from the production facility supporting our post production flight operations within the UK.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
