Role Profile
Working as part of the contracted services team, guided by the Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up and running AV equipment in the school hall for both internal and parent facing events. Additionally, when not working on AV, you will work with the IT team to support the school’s IT, undertaking a broad range of tasks, including maintaining the school’s network, staff and pupil devices, classroom AV and delivering an excellent service to staff and students.

Hours Per Week: 40 hours, normally 07:45 to 16:15, Monday to Friday, with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break

Reports To: Service Manager
Salary Per Annum: FTE £29,000 – £32,000 DoE

Day-To-Day Responsibilities
- Liaise with event organisers to establish AV requirements
- Assess the suitability and ensure the availability of equipment for upcoming events
- Ensure that AV equipment is set up to meet the requirements of event organisers and is functioning correctly
- Where required, train users in use of AV equipment
- Where necessary attending events in order to ensure the smooth running of AV
- Ensure AV equipment is maintained to a high standard, troubleshoot faults and arrange for remediation where necessary
- Where capacity allows you will assist the IT team:
- Resolving 1st line support tickets within the helpdesk
- Installing new software and upgrading existing applications
- Providing technical support for teachers and pupils
- Testing and fixing IT devices

Department And Company Responsibilities
- Maintaining AV equipment in Main Hall
- Routine maintenance of classroom IT
- Maintaining the school’s network
- Ensuring systems and equipment are safe for pupil use
- Maintenance and management of hardware peripherals
Person Attributes

Experience
- 18 months practical experience with AV equipment, including sound, projection, and video
- Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV systems
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety and electrical best practices
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Clear communication and a helpful, professional manner
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Experience providing IT support in a Microsoft/Windows environment
- Microsoft administration – especially Entra ID, inTune
- Experience troubleshooting and solving hardware and software issues
Qualifications
- Industry recognised AV (e.g. CTS exams) and IT qualifications (e.g. Microsoft exams CompTIA A+) would be beneficial
- GCSE English and Maths
Conditions
This role will be based full time onsite at Colfe’s School, Horn Park Lane, London, SE12 8AW. inTEC Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. As a school based role, employment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment checks. The position involves evening working, manual handling, and working across the school locations on the same site.
The role also requires attendance at up to 25 evening events each year. Time worked at these events will normally be offset through adjusted working hours or time off in lieu. Overtime may be available where operational requirements require additional hours to be worked. Working term time only (plus 2 weeks) may be considered, and the salary will be adjusted accordingly.
