Overall Purpose of Role

We are looking for a government relations professional to support the Group in ensuring the LME is kept up to date with relevant regulatory, policy and legislative change in the UK and abroad. This will involve working closely with the business, trade associations, external regulatory consultancies, relevant domestic policymakers such as FCA/Bank of England/HMT, and international policymakers such as IOSCO. Responsibilities

  • Assist the LME in developing an effective process for compiling policy positions with the business and work closely with the Regulation team to coordinate consultation responses and advocacy efforts.
  • Co-ordinate and help develop messaging and corporate positioning on key issues and policy areas and work with broader communications team on copywriting for key campaigns (internal or external), advocacy, strategy and promotional opportunities.
  • Build links with relevant political stakeholders and groups to raise understanding of the LME and our place within financial services.
  • Make effective use of information sources: monitoring services, law firms, trade associations and industry engagement to build a comprehensive view of forthcoming legislative change.
  • Ensure internal LME Group stakeholders remain up-to-date on all relevant regulatory developments within the UK and internationally in order to be able to effect necessary change.
  • Create regular reports for senior management outlining key changes or developments with regards to the LME’s key legislative dossiers.
  • Engage directly with, and participate in, relevant working groups across the LME Group’s trade association membership (FIA/CMCE/ISDA/The City UK).
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and advocacy support on key regulatory areas of focus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
