Our client

Our client is a leading international bank with an established Structured Trade Finance franchise and is looking to hire a AVP/Vice President into its London-based origination team.

Role Overview

This is a front-office role focused on originating, structuring and executing bespoke trade finance solutions for corporate and financial institution clients across international markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with Relationship Management, Credit, Legal, Distribution and regional teams to develop new business and deliver structured financing solutions across a range of sectors and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate new Structured Trade Finance opportunities and develop relationships with corporates, financial institutions, traders and other market participants.
  • Identify opportunities to utilise the bank's balance sheet through bespoke and structured trade finance solutions.
  • Structure and execute complex transactions, including prepayment finance, borrowing bases, inventory finance, receivables-backed facilities, commodity/trade finance and other transactionally secured structures.
  • Lead transactions from initial origination and structuring through credit approval, documentation and execution.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new business and actively contribute to the growth of the franchise.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers and sector teams to identify client needs and develop tailored financing solutions.
  • Prepare and present transaction proposals, Information Memoranda and lender presentations.
  • Work with Distribution to optimise syndication and execution of larger transactions.
  • Analyse transaction structures, cash flows, collateral and underlying risks, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, competitors and evolving trade finance structures.
  • Build senior-level relationships with clients and develop a strong external network.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Demonstrable track record of developing new business and winning mandates.
  • Strong credit and financial analysis skills, with the ability to assess complex transaction structures and cash flows.

This would suit an experienced AVP/VP who is looking to take greater ownership of origination and build on an existing Structured Trade or Commodity Finance track record within an international banking platform.
