Role Description

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, mandatory)

Employment Type: Permanent | Fixed-Term Contract | Contract (Inside IR35)

Start Date: Immediate/ Short Notice period

About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on AWS Application Developer to help build and enhance a modern AI-enabled cloud platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an initiative focused on accelerating software delivery through automation, cloud-native development, AI-powered engineering, and self-service capabilities.

You will play a key role in developing reusable application patterns, platform services, governance controls, and developer tooling that enable engineering teams to build, deploy, and manage applications efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud-native applications, APIs, and platform services on AWS.
  • Build reusable application templates, patterns, and developer accelerators.
  • Design and implement scalable serverless solutions using AWS services.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes.
  • Integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into engineering workflows and applications.
  • Implement automated governance, compliance, and operational controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to establish best practices for modern application development.
  • Drive platform reliability through testing, monitoring, observability, and secure-by-design practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong application development experience with modern software engineering practices.
  • Proven AWS development experience, including:
    • Lambda
    • API Gateway
    • Step Functions
    • Event-driven architectures
  • Experience developing cloud-native and serverless applications.
  • Hands-on experience using AI/GenAI tools within the software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, GitHub Actions, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience building secure, compliant, and automated development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of API design, testing, observability, and application security.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Python and FastAPI.
  • TypeScript and React.
  • AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, LangChain, or other GenAI frameworks.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering tools.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or other regulated industries.
