AWS Solution Architect | Inside IR35 | 6-Month Contract
Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional travel to London or Manchester
Contract Length: Initial 6 months with strong potential for extension

The Role
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to support the Lead Architect on a large-scale application transformation and cloud migration programme.
You will work closely with client stakeholders, delivery teams, and supplier partners to successfully design, refactor, and migrate key applications to AWS. A key aspect of the role will involve defining, reviewing, and assuring architecture artefacts while ensuring solutions align with programme objectives and architectural standards.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile transformation programme and play a key role in delivering complex cloud migration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Architect with the refactoring and migration of applications to AWS.
- Work directly with client and supplier teams within a large programme environment.
- Define, review, and assure key architecture artefacts.
- Create and maintain reference architectures.
- Conduct architecture impact assessments and provide recommendations.
- Produce documentation to support architecture decisions and governance processes.
- Ensure architectural consistency, quality, and alignment across the programme.
- Collaborate effectively within a complex multi-supplier environment.
Essential Skills And Experience
Candidates must have:
- Previous UK Central Government experience (mandatory)
- Proven experience delivering application migrations to AWS
- Strong Application Architecture experience
- Experience working within multi-supplier delivery environments
- Experience creating reference architectures
- Experience conducting architecture impact assessments
- Experience producing architecture governance and assurance artefacts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- AWS Certifications
- Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture patterns and best practices
