Are you a Senior Cloud Leader with a passion for delivering large-scale transformation programmes across public sector and regulated industries?
We're seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead complex AWS cloud transformation initiatives, shape enterprise cloud strategies, and help organisations modernise technology platforms through cloud-native architecture, automation, security and AI-enabled engineering practices.
This is an opportunity to influence business-critical programmes, work alongside senior client stakeholders and lead high-performing teams delivering innovative cloud solutions at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Defining cloud strategies, target architectures and transformation roadmaps aligned to business objectives
- Architecting secure, scalable and resilient AWS cloud platforms
- Leading enterprise cloud migration and modernisation programmes
- Driving platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices
- Establishing cloud security, governance, compliance and resilience frameworks
- Advising senior client stakeholders and providing strategic architectural leadership
- Managing multiple workstreams and leading cross-functional teams through complex delivery challenges
- Driving cloud innovation, operational excellence and cost optimisation initiatives
- Mentoring architects and engineers while building capability across teams
- Leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Min 5 - 8 years' experience in cloud architecture, cloud strategy, engineering and transformation delivery
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent professional-level AWS certification)
- Deep expertise across AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures
- Proven experience delivering large-scale cloud migration and modernisation programmes
- Strong experience defining enterprise cloud strategies, operating models and target architectures
- Expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure automation and modern DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, resilience and compliance controls
- Experience leading large teams and complex delivery programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers
- Experience identifying and managing enterprise risks across transformation programmes
- Consulting experience delivering measurable business outcomes for clients
- Active SC Clearance
Desirable
- Public sector, government, healthcare or financial services experience
- Multi-cloud expertise across AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Strong Terraform and CloudFormation experience
- CI/CD tooling experience including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab or Jenkins
- Cloud landing zone and platform engineering implementation experience
- Cloud networking, identity and security expertise
- DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) transformation experience
- Azure or GCP cloud architecture certifications
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or other AI-enabled engineering tools
- FinOps and cloud cost optimisation experience

Security Requirements
This position requires active BPSS and SC Security Clearance. Applicants must have resided in the UK continuously for the past five years and not have spent more than six consecutive months outside the UK during that period.
