Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect with strong expertise in enterprise data migration from On-Premise to AWS Cloud within the Banking/Financial Services domain. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing scalable cloud-native data platforms, implementing Common Data Environment (CDE) frameworks, and leading large-scale data transformation initiatives while ensuring security, governance, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Migration from On-perm to AWS & CDE Framework Implementation
  • Lead the architecture and execution of enterprise-scale On-Prem to AWS data migration programs
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance AWS-based data platforms
  • Build and implement Common Data Environment (CDE) Frameworks to standardize data ingestion, governance, quality, metadata, and lineage
  • Define enterprise data architecture, data models, and integration strategies
  • Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS-native services
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, solution architects, and application owners
  • Establish best practices for data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance
  • Optimize cloud performance, availability, scalability, and cost
  • Support modernization of legacy banking data platforms into cloud-native architectures

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering
  • Strong experience in AWS Cloud Architecture
  • Proven experience in On-Premise to AWS Data Migration
  • Hands-on experience implementing Common Data Environment (CDE) Frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services including:
    • Amazon S3
    • AWS Glue
    • Amazon Redshift
    • Amazon EMR
    • AWS Lambda
    • IAM
    • Lake Formation
    • Athena
    • CloudFormation
    • Step Functions
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and modern cloud data platforms
  • Strong SQL and data modelling expertise
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration frameworks
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and DevOps practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management and solution design skills
  • Banking Domain Experience (Mandatory)
    • Strong experience working with Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Payments, Lending, Core Banking, Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory Reporting
    • Understanding of banking data models and regulatory requirements
    • Experience delivering cloud transformation programs in highly regulated financial environments

Preferred Skills

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Analytics
  • Experience with Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview
  • Knowledge of Snowflake or Databricks is an added advantage
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies
