AWS Data Engineer – Python, SQL & Spark
Salary: £65,000–£75,000, dependent on experience
Location: Central London – three days in the office and two from home
Job reference: J13171
We’re looking for an AWS Data Engineer to help build and scale the data platform behind an innovative consumer intelligence business.
You’ll design and develop production-grade data pipelines on AWS, processing large volumes of ethically sourced behavioural data and transforming it into reliable, accessible data products. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong commercial experience with AWS, Python and SQL, alongside practical experience using Spark or PySpark.
You’ll join a small, collaborative technology team where you can take ownership, influence technical decisions and contribute across the full data engineering lifecycle. The platform is continuing to evolve, so you’ll have the opportunity to improve existing processes while helping shape how new data products are designed and delivered.
The team also uses Claude extensively to support development, debugging, testing and documentation. You’ll use AI-assisted development tools alongside strong engineering fundamentals, applying your own judgement to review, test and validate the resulting code.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
