About The Role
We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team on an initial 6-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing modern data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across our client organizations. Your expertise will enable the creation of robust, scalable, and efficient data solutions leveraging the latest AWS services and modern data tooling. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex data engineering projects within a forward-thinking consultancy, contributing to innovative data architectures and strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data engineering within AWS environments, with proven experience in building scalable data pipelines and platforms. You should have extensive knowledge of Python, SQL, and PySpark, along with hands-on experience using dbt for data transformation. Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, and data warehousing solutions like Amazon Redshift, is essential. Knowledge of modern data lakehouse architectures, including Apache Iceberg, and search technologies like OpenSearch, will be highly advantageous. Additionally, experience with Knowledge Graphs, CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI), and a solid understanding of data modeling and performance optimization are required.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
- Build and maintain data transformation frameworks leveraging dbt to ensure consistent, reliable, and transparent data models.
- Develop and orchestrate complex workflows using Apache Airflow to automate data processes and ensure timely delivery of data assets.
- Implement high-performance data warehouse solutions within Amazon Redshift, optimizing queries for speed and efficiency.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Apache Iceberg lakehouse architectures to enable flexible and scalable data storage.
- Enhance search and data discovery capabilities using OpenSearch, ensuring efficient indexing and retrieval of large datasets.
- Work with Knowledge Graph technologies to improve data relationships, discovery, and semantic understanding across datasets.
- Implement CI/CD best practices using CircleCI to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Product Teams, and Business Stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security are maintained across all platforms, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
