About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing modern data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS cloud services and modern data tooling, including dbt, PySpark, Airflow, Redshift, Iceberg, OpenSearch, and Knowledge Graphs. Your work will directly influence the company's ability to harness data effectively, enabling smarter decision-making and innovative solutions for our clients. This position offers flexibility with remote or hybrid working arrangements, providing an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to work on impactful projects within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering within AWS environments, with proven experience in building scalable data solutions. You should possess advanced skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark, along with hands-on experience managing workflows with Apache Airflow. Familiarity with modern data lakehouse architectures, particularly Apache Iceberg, and experience working with Amazon Redshift are essential. Knowledge of search technologies such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, as well as familiarity with Knowledge Graphs and graph-based data modeling, will be highly advantageous. Additionally, experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI and understanding data modeling, performance tuning, and best practices in data engineering are required. A proactive approach to collaboration and problem-solving is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark to handle large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Build and maintain robust data transformation frameworks using dbt to ensure data consistency and quality across platforms.
  • Develop, schedule, and orchestrate complex workflows using Apache Airflow to automate data processes and ensure timely delivery.
  • Create high-performance data warehouse solutions within Amazon Redshift, optimizing for speed and scalability.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Apache Iceberg-based lakehouse architectures for flexible and efficient data storage.
  • Enhance search and data discovery capabilities by developing and maintaining solutions with OpenSearch.
  • Work with Knowledge Graph technologies to improve data relationships, discovery, and contextual understanding across datasets.
  • Implement CI/CD best practices using CircleCI to streamline deployment processes and improve development workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Product Teams, and Business Stakeholders to develop data solutions that meet business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and scalability are maintained at all stages of data pipeline development and deployment.
