Your Role And Responsibilities
Join IBM as an AWS Data Scientist, advising and delivering data, analytics, and AI solutions for public sector clients as they navigate complex business, operational, and societal challenges. Working at the intersection of data science, cloud technology, and consulting, you will help organisations translate data into actionable insights, strengthen decision-making, and deliver measurable outcomes for citizens and communities.
As part of IBM’s AI, Analytics & Data Science practice, you will partner with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to shape data-driven strategies, design and implement scalable analytics solutions, and accelerate the modernisation of public sector data estates. Leveraging AWS cloud capabilities alongside IBM’s consulting expertise, you will help clients unlock the value of their data, improve operational performance, and establish sustainable, insight-led approaches to transformation.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy predictive models, machine learning solutions, and data-driven applications to address public sector challenges.
- Work with public sector clients to translate complex business and policy challenges into practical data science solutions.
- Analyse large and diverse datasets to identify trends, improve services, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate data and AI insights into business and public sector strategies.
- Design scalable data science workflows and solutions using AWS cloud services.
- Stay up to date with emerging developments in data science, machine learning, AI, and cloud technologies.

Bachelor's Degree
Required Skills
Required technical and professional expertise
- Advanced Python with hands-on experience across AI/ML frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
- Strong understanding of foundation models, LLMs, generative AI, and modern ML architectures.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services for data, machine learning, and AI workloads.
- Proven ability to architect and deliver production-ready AI solutions in complex professional environments.
- Strong consulting, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and technical leadership capabilities.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
Desirable Skills
- Experience developing and applying Generative AI, foundation models, and LLM-based solutions.
- Familiarity with modern UI and application frameworks, including React, Angular, and Bootstrap.
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL, DB2, and MongoDB.
- Understanding of Linux and Windows environments and cloud-based application architectures.
