Role Overview
We are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer (SFIA Level 3 – Apply) with 4–5 years of experience to support and maintain our AWS and secure on-premise environments. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to day-to-day operations, automation, and support activities, while building toward greater autonomy and ownership.
Preferred Tech Stack Expertise
- Cloud Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, Kafka, IAM)
- Secure Hosting: Exposure to air-gapped or government-secure environments (desirable)
- Container & Cluster Management: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Jenkins, Helm
- Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Dynatrace
- Secrets & Identity Management: HashiCorp Vault, Keycloak
- CI/CD & DevOps Tooling: Jenkins, Git, ServiceNow, Trivy, Terraform
- Streaming & Messaging: Apache Kafka (foundational knowledge)
- Data Layers: PostgreSQL, Redis, RDLs
- Automation: IaC, pipeline build automation
- Scripting: Bash, Python, Groovy

Responsibilities
- Support the running and day-to-day maintenance of the AWS and secure on-premise environments to help ensure availability.
- Contribute to Level 3 (L3) production support and non-production environment maintenance, participating in 24/7 on-call support rotas.
- Follow and support security standards and the change and release governance model.
- Assist in building and maintaining infrastructure components such as event streaming (Kafka), databases (Aurora, RDS, Redis), identity management (Keycloak), and caching layers, under senior guidance.
- Support and help maintain CI/CD tooling and self-service developer pipelines for tenant teams.
- Assist in identifying and addressing technical debt, escalating to senior engineers or governance bodies where needed.
- Support efforts to increase automation, observability, and testing coverage across platform components.
- Work with internal/external platform and infrastructure teams to support scalable and resilient services, aligned with the product roadmap.
- Assist with platform deployments, incident/problem/change management, and continual service improvement activities (ITIL-aligned).
- Use ServiceNow (or its successor) to log and track changes, incidents, requests, and problem records.
- Assist with replication services and secure data flows (Impex, Threat, Kafka replication) under supervision.

Experience
- 4–5 years of experience in a DevOps/Platform Engineering or similar infrastructure role.
- Comfortable working within established processes and escalating appropriately, while developing toward more independent ownership of tasks.
- SC Clearance/Eligibility Required
