About The Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer with active SC Clearance to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel within the UK as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting secure and reliable cloud platforms on AWS. You will collaborate closely with development and QA teams to enhance delivery pipelines, improve system performance, and automate processes across containerized, microservices-based applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical projects that require a high level of security and technical expertise, contributing to the development of resilient cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills, security clearance, and practical experience. Essential qualifications include an active SC Clearance, demonstrated hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, and proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. Candidates should have a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and Linux system administration. Additionally, experience supporting microservices architectures and knowledge of cloud security and DevSecOps principles are vital. Strong communication skills and experience working within Agile teams are also required to succeed in this role. Certifications related to AWS or DevOps methodologies will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Implement and optimise continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline application delivery.
  • Support and manage Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, and microservices-based applications to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor platform performance, security posture, and reliability metrics, proactively addressing issues and implementing improvements.
  • Lead the adoption of DevOps best practices across Agile teams, promoting automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Participate in incident response and troubleshooting to resolve platform issues promptly.
