DevOps Engineer – AWS & Amazon EKS Roles

Role Overview

Team Creation is a leading iGaming development company in the Asia market. We focus on delivering innovative products and immersive iGaming experiences globally. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. In this role, you will:

  • Specialize exclusively in AWS and Amazon EKS, automating infrastructure with Terraform, orchestrating containers via EKS, building CI/CD with GitOps, and implementing monitoring/observability and AWS EKS IAM concepts.
  • Support secure, high-performance, cost-optimised systems while collaborating with developers and SREs in an automation-first, collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Maintain

    • Robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollouts in AWS/EKS environments.
  • Manage & Optimise

    • Amazon EKS clusters for container orchestration in production.
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform on AWS.
  • Support Production Environments

    • Live production AWS/EKS environments.
    • On-call rotation, incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems.
  • Automate & Secure

    • Provisioning, configuration, scaling, observability, and secure workload access across AWS services.
    • Collaboration on improving system reliability, observability, DevSecOps, EW KS IAM, and AWS cost optimization.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Linux System Administration

    • Strong experience with file systems, processes, networking, troubleshooting, and bash scripting.
  • Scripting & Programming

    • Python, Bash/Shell, with nice-to-haves in Go/TypeScript.
  • Git & Version Control

    • Proficient Git workflows, branching strategies, and best practices.
  • AWS Proficiency

    • Core services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, and CloudWatch.
    • Production-grade experience required.
  • Amazon EKS Mastery

    • Cluster creation/management, node groups, add-ons, upgrades, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

    • Strong preference for Terraform; deep knowledge of AWS provider/modules.
  • Helm & Kustomize

    • Familiarity with Helm charts and Kustomize for Kubernetes application deployment.
  • CI/CD & GitOps

    • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/CD, plus ArgoCD.
  • Monitoring & Observability

    • Tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, OpenTelemetry.
    • Focus: Metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and AWS integration (e.g., CloudWatch**, X-Ray).
  • AWS EKS IAM

    • Deep understanding of:
      • IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA).
      • EKS Access Entries & Access Policies (Cluster Access Management API).
      • EKS Cluster IAM Role and Node IAM Role configurations.
      • Principle of least privilege, temporary credentials, avoiding over-permissive roles, credential isolation, and IAM-Kubernetes RBAC integration.

  • AWS Cost Optimization
    • Analysing and optimising costs using AWS Cost Explorer, Compute Optimiser, and EKS workload right-sizing.

Experience & Mindset

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure engineering, or related roles (AWS/EKS-focused).
  • Proven ability to build and maintain production-grade CI/CD pipelines for AWS/Kubernetes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/IT or equivalent hands-on AWS/EKS experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in complex production environments.
  • Automation-first mindset and a passion for improving systems.
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to learn, embrace challenges, and improve through incidents.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Works seamlessly with engineering, SRE, security, and product teams.
  • Maintains clear technical documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
