Contract Opportunity | AWS Engineer | Outside IR35

Flexible hybrid (London) 600/day Outside IR35 Initial 6-month contract

The Role

A leading technology business is looking for AWS Engineers with a strong software engineering background to support a major cloud migration and disaster recovery programme covering approximately 60 critical services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and automating AWS solutions through code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and automate solutions within AWS.
  • Develop production-quality code, scripts and automation.
  • Support cloud migration and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Work with ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront and AWS security services.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions.
  • Participate in code reviews and apply clean code, testing and SDLC best practices.
  • Troubleshoot AWS infrastructure and deployment issues.

Essential Experience

  • Strong software engineering / development background.
  • Production coding experience in C#, Python, Node.js or similar.
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience.
  • Experience with AWS automation and infrastructure built through code.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally Terraform.
  • CI/CD experience.
  • Strong understanding of testing, clean code, code reviews and maintainability.

Important

This is not a traditional DevOps/SRE or infrastructure administration role. The focus is on engineers who can write, review and troubleshoot production code, alongside strong AWS expertise.
