AWS Platform Engineer (Contract) | AWS | Node.js | Python | Terraform | SNS / SQS | Event-Driven Architecture | 1 Day Per Week Hybrid into Central London | £550 Per Day Outside IR35

Method Resourcing has partnered with a well-known technology organisation embarking on a major cloud modernisation programme. They are looking to bring in an AWS Platform Engineer to support the transformation of a large application estate while improving resilience, scalability, and recovery capabilities across the business.

This is not a traditional DevOps role. They are specifically looking for a software engineer with strong cloud platform experience who can design and build modern, cloud-native solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role

  • Working closely with a team of AWS specialists, helping to design and develop scalable platform services while supporting the migration of a significant application estate away from legacy technologies.

This is a hands-on engineering role where software development capability is just as important as cloud platform knowledge.
