AWS Cloud Security Operations Engineer

Manchester (Hybrid, 3 Days On-Site) - £60,000 - £80,000 + Bonus, Equity, Private Medical & Pension

We're supporting a high-growth technology business that delivers mission-critical software used by law enforcement and emergency services across the UK and US.

As an AWS Cloud Security Operations Engineer, you'll become a key part of a global cybersecurity team, taking ownership of cloud security, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and incident response across a modern AWS environment. This is a genuinely hands-on security engineering position for someone who enjoys solving real security problems rather than writing reports about them.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Driving vulnerability management across cloud infrastructure, applications and networks
  • Identifying, prioritising and remediating security risks
  • Researching emerging threats and translating intelligence into actionable security improvements
  • Leading and coordinating incident response activities
  • Managing and improving AWS security controls and cloud security posture
  • Working with SIEM, EDR and monitoring platforms to enhance threat detection capabilities
  • Partnering with engineering teams to embed security into cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines
  • Acting as the local security presence within the Manchester office

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
