Senior Manager – AWS Solution Architect
Salary: £110,000 – £125,000 + £5,000 Travel Allowance + 10% Bonus
Location: London (Hybrid)
The Opportunity
A leading global professional services and technology consultancy is looking for a Senior Manager – AWS Solution Architect to join its growing Cloud Solutions practice.
This is a senior client-facing role working with tier-1 organisations across multiple industries, helping them translate cloud strategy into large-scale transformation and modernisation.
You will combine deep AWS architecture expertise with strategic advisory, enterprise architecture, senior stakeholder engagement and delivery leadership, shaping solutions from strategy through to implementation.
The Role
As a Senior Manager, you will define cloud strategies and enterprise architecture standards while leading complex AWS transformation programmes.
You will work closely with senior executives and technology leaders, advising on cloud adoption, legacy modernisation, data and AI, security and multi-cloud strategies.
Alongside client delivery, you will mentor managers and consultants and help build technical capability across the wider Cloud practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Define AWS cloud strategy, governance and enterprise architecture standards.
- Translate complex business objectives into scalable, secure and commercially viable cloud solutions.
- Lead large-scale cloud transformation programmes, including data centre exits, cloud migrations and legacy modernisation.
- Design modern cloud-native architectures using serverless, containers, microservices and event-driven patterns.
- Shape cloud strategies across data, AI, security and multi-cloud environments.
- Ensure cloud solutions meet regulatory, security, resilience and compliance requirements.
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant and scalable architectures.
- Advise on disaster recovery, performance, observability and cloud optimisation.
- Design integration architectures, APIs and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Engage senior stakeholders, presenting architecture and transformation strategies to executive boards and governance forums.
- Lead and mentor managers, architects and consultants.
- Contribute to client proposals, solution development and wider Cloud practice growth.
- Act as a cloud evangelist, helping clients understand the business value and transformational potential of AWS.

Skills & Experience
- Significant hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
- Strong enterprise and solution architecture background within complex organisations.
- Proven experience translating business requirements into scalable, secure cloud architectures.
- Strong knowledge of AWS architecture, governance, security and cost optimisation.
- Experience across data platforms, analytics and AI/ML-driven solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern application architecture, including serverless, containers, microservices and CI/CD.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security, including IAM, encryption and compliance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing for high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, performance and observability.
- Proven experience engaging with C-suite and senior technology stakeholders.
- Experience leading and developing technical consulting teams.
- AWS Professional and/or Associate certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with Azure or Google Cloud would be advantageous.
- AWS Specialty certification in areas such as Security, Machine Learning or Advanced Networking would be desirable.
- Willingness to work onsite with clients and partners when required.
- Ability to meet BPSS and SC security clearance requirements, including 5 years' continuous UK address history at the point of application.
