About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our client's dynamic team on a remote basis outside IR35. The primary focus of this role is to oversee the configuration and deployment of API Management solutions within the Azure cloud environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of Azure services. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with hands-on experience in Azure API Management to contribute to innovative cloud projects, enhance security protocols, and support scalable network architectures. The role requires a proactive approach to managing cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and implementing best practices for cloud security and networking.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud engineering with specific expertise in Azure services. Essential qualifications include:
- Proven experience in implementing and supporting Azure API Management (APIM)
- Configuring Azure Firewall
- Managing virtual networks
- Solid understanding of network security groups, route tables, and private endpoints
- Familiarity with Azure Application Gateway and Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Good grasp of cloud security principles
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate will be advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and maintain Azure API Management (APIM) solutions to support enterprise applications.
- Configure and manage Azure Firewall policies, including rule collections to ensure secure traffic flow.
- Deploy and support Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), including VNet peering, Network Security Groups (NSGs), route tables, and private endpoints.
- Maintain and optimize Azure Application Gateway and Web Application Firewall (WAF) for enhanced security and application delivery.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver integrated Azure services aligned with organizational goals.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for deployed solutions and configurations.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of cloud infrastructure components.
- Stay updated with the latest Azure features and best practices to recommend improvements and innovations.
