About The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Azure Engineer to join our client's team on a contractual basis. This role involves supporting the migration of a critical business application from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Technical Architect to design, build, test, and deploy a secure, resilient, and operationally efficient Azure environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-stakes cloud migration project, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum security for the organization’s core systems. The role is remote, with occasional meetings in London, and is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in cloud migration and Azure infrastructure management.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience in cloud migration projects. Relevant qualifications include Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or equivalent. Proven experience in migrating applications and infrastructure to Azure, with a solid understanding of Azure services including compute, storage, networking, and security. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates is essential. Additionally, experience working in regulated or mission-critical environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of DevOps practices are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and migration planning activities to ensure a comprehensive approach to the cloud transition.
- Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Implement identity management solutions, monitoring tools, and operational services to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
- Lead migration activities, including cutover planning, execution, and rollback procedures to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Conduct resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing to validate the environment's robustness and recoverability.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and migration issues promptly, providing solutions to ensure project continuity.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and handover materials for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless delivery of the migration project.
