About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Azure Engineer to join our client on a contract basis. This role involves supporting a critical migration project, where the successful candidate will be responsible for transitioning a business-critical application from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The position requires a hands-on professional with extensive experience in cloud migration, infrastructure setup, and operational support within Azure. Working closely with the Lead Technical Architect, the Azure Engineer will build, test, and support the cloud environment, ensuring it is secure, resilient, and aligned with organizational standards. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a high-impact project, utilizing your technical expertise to facilitate a seamless migration and ongoing cloud operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and relevant experience, including:

  • Proven experience in Azure cloud migration projects
  • Strong understanding of Azure Infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and landing zones
  • Experience with Azure Networking and Hybrid Connectivity solutions
  • Knowledge of Entra ID / Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Familiarity with Azure Security best practices and tools
  • Experience with Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitoring, logging, and operational support skills
  • Experience working in regulated or mission-critical environments is highly desirable

Responsibilities

The Azure Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical and project management tasks, including:

  • Supporting discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning activities
  • Building and configuring Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network components
  • Implementing security controls, identity management, and operational services to ensure a secure environment
  • Managing migration activities, including cutover planning, execution, and rollback procedures
  • Conducting resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing to validate system robustness
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues and migration challenges promptly
  • Producing comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials for ongoing support
  • Collaborating closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle

This role offers a competitive daily rate of 428.40 outside IR35 and the opportunity to work remotely, with occasional meetings in London. The contract duration is initially six months, with potential for extension based on project needs.
