About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Azure Engineer to join our client's dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in supporting a critical migration project, where the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and migrating enterprise applications to Microsoft Azure. The Azure Engineer will work closely with the Lead Technical Architect to ensure the migration is executed smoothly, securely, and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational resilience. The position offers remote working flexibility with occasional meetings in London, providing an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to contribute to high-impact cloud transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud infrastructure, with specific expertise in Microsoft Azure. Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate practical experience in cloud migration projects, especially those involving complex enterprise environments. A solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep, along with experience in DevOps practices, is essential. Additionally, familiarity with security protocols, identity management, and disaster recovery planning in Azure environments will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are also required.

Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning to ensure a seamless transition from on-premise infrastructure to Azure.
- Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure components, including compute, storage, and networking, aligning with best practices and security standards.
- Implement identity and access management solutions, leveraging Entra ID and other security controls to safeguard cloud resources.
- Develop and deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools to automate provisioning and updates.
- Configure and optimize Azure networking, including hybrid connectivity solutions, to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Coordinate migration activities, including cutover and rollback procedures, to minimize operational disruptions.
- Support testing of resilience, backup, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and migration issues promptly, maintaining high service availability.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials for ongoing support and maintenance.
- Collaborate with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.
