About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in supporting the migration of a business-critical application from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. Working closely with the Lead Technical Architect, the successful candidate will be responsible for building, migrating, testing, and supporting Azure infrastructure to ensure a secure, resilient, and operationally ready platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with a strong background in cloud migration and Azure services to contribute to a high-profile project in a dynamic environment.

  • Proven experience in Azure cloud migration projects
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and landing zones
  • Experience with Azure Networking and Hybrid Connectivity solutions
  • Familiarity with Entra ID / Identity & Access Management
  • Understanding of Azure Security best practices
  • Knowledge of Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Skills in Monitoring, Logging, and Operational Support
  • Experience working within regulated or mission-critical environments
  • Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable

Responsibilities

The Azure Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning
  • Building and configuring Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components
  • Implementing security controls and identity management solutions within Azure
  • Establishing and maintaining operational services such as monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Managing migration activities, including cutover and rollback procedures to minimize downtime
  • Conducting resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing to ensure system robustness
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure and migration issues promptly and effectively
  • Producing comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials
  • Collaborating closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle

This role offers a competitive day rate of 428.40 outside IR35 and the flexibility of remote working, with occasional meetings in London. The contract duration is initially set for six months or longer, providing stability and the opportunity to work on a significant cloud migration project.
