DataBricks Architect (JD)
Technology Architect – Databricks with over 12-14 years of experience in designing and leading large scale data engineering, analytics, and cloud transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Databricks, big data architectures, cloud platforms (Azure), and modern data engineering frameworks and need to have working experience in banking industry. This role will be responsible for defining end to end architectural solutions, driving best practices, and guiding engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost optimized data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Solution Architecture
- Define and implement enterprise-wide data architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Architect scalable and secure Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse solutions on Azure.
- Design end-to-end data ecosystems supporting batch, streaming, analytics, AI, and reporting workloads.
- Create architecture blueprints, solution designs, reference architectures, and technical standards.
- Lead architecture reviews, design governance, and technology selection activities.

Azure Databricks Architecture
- Design and implement enterprise-grade solutions using Azure Databricks.
- Develop scalable Lakehouse architectures leveraging Delta Lake.
- Define standards for workspace design, cluster management, performance optimization, and cost governance.
- Architect data engineering, data science, and machine learning environments on Databricks.
- Establish best practices for Unity Catalog, data lineage, and security implementation.
Azure Data Engineering
- Architect and oversee development of robust data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks.
- Design ELT/ETL solutions using:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Functions
- Event Hub
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Lead enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives.
- Define reusable data pipelines and framework accelerators
Cloud Architecture & Modernization
- Design highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud-native architectures.
- Drive migration of on-premises applications and data platforms to Azure.
- Define cloud governance, security, and operational frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership for hybrid and multi-cloud integration strategies.
- Ensure solutions adhere to Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.

Data Governance & Security
- Implement enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Design metadata management and data catalog solutions using Microsoft Purview.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Define data quality, lineage, classification, and retention strategies.
- Collaborate with security teams to establish RBAC and access management controls.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the technology leader and trusted advisor for data platform initiatives.
- Guide development teams through design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Mentor architects, data engineers, and developers.
- Present architecture recommendations and roadmaps to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Support proposal development, solution estimations, and pre-sales activities.
