Azure Data Engineer

Salary: £36,644 - £45,151
Location: Glasgow
Contract Type: Permanent

I'm currently working with a well-known charity looking to hire an Azure Data Engineer to join their data and technology team during a significant transformation programme. The organisation is moving towards a Microsoft-based technology stack and is looking for someone who can help develop a more integrated, efficient, and scalable data environment.

The role will work across the full data journey, with a particular focus on integration and data warehousing. You'll help bring data from external sources into the organisation's Azure environment and operational systems, while also using Microsoft Fabric to transform and structure data for warehousing, reporting, and analytics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role would suit an Azure Data Engineer, Data Integration Developer, or BI Developer who combines strong integration experience with hands-on data warehousing knowledge. Salesforce and charity/fundraising experience would be advantageous but aren't essential.
