About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team working on a significant NHS programme. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure that support critical healthcare services across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working within NHS or government environments, understanding the unique standards, security protocols, and assurance processes involved. Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including proven involvement with NHS or UK government programmes. Essential qualifications include strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and repositories, comprehensive knowledge of Azure cloud services covering compute, networking, storage, and identity management. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep is required, along with scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as AKS or Kubernetes is also necessary. A good understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, along with relevant Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-104), will be highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps to streamline deployment processes.
  • Provisioning and managing Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code methodologies, ensuring environments are scalable, secure, and compliant.
  • Automating build, test, and release processes across multiple environments to facilitate rapid and reliable delivery of services.
  • Monitoring platform health, performance, and costs to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Incorporating security and compliance controls into pipelines and infrastructure to meet NHS and government standards.
  • Collaborating closely with developers, testers, and architects to ensure smooth release cycles and high-quality deployments.
  • Providing support during incident response, troubleshooting live service issues, and ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Documenting processes, environments, and runbooks to maintain comprehensive operational knowledge and facilitate onboarding and knowledge transfer.
