About The Role

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Azure DevOps Engineer to join a specialized team working within a confidential government environment. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable DevOps solutions that support critical government projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading DevOps practices, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the seamless integration and deployment of applications across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects that require a high level of security clearance and technical expertise. The role is based in London with a hybrid working model, offering flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of extensive DevOps experience, with a proven track record of leading teams and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have strong expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, along with a solid understanding of designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, Bamboo, or other cloud-native solutions. Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is essential, as well as scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Candidates must demonstrate experience in producing technical designs and documentation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for automation, innovation, and emerging technologies. Additional desirable skills include knowledge of SRE principles, PKI, TLS, and experience working within secure or government environments.

Responsibilities

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines across multiple cloud platforms to facilitate continuous integration and deployment.
  • Leading efforts in automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Working closely with development teams to ensure security and compliance standards are met, particularly within a government or secure environment.
  • Producing technical documentation, participating in code reviews, and ensuring best practices are followed in all DevOps activities.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and recommending innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities and security posture.
