Azure DevOps Engineer
Sparta Global are hiring an Azure DevOps Engineer on an initial 6-month FTC to support the delivery, automation and ongoing operation of Microsoft Azure platform services within a cloud engineering team.
This role will work across cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring and operational support. You will be expected to take ownership of defined engineering tasks, work independently where appropriate and collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, developers and service teams.
This is a 6-Month Fixed Term Contract, requiring 2 days per week in our client's office - they have offices all over England and in most major cities, so we are open to people from all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, configure and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Create, maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Support the automated deployment of infrastructure, applications and configuration changes across development, test and production environments.
- Configure and support Azure networking, identity, compute and storage services.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and logging using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
- Investigate technical issues and contribute to the resolution of incidents, service failures and deployment problems.
- Support production and non-production environments, ensuring services remain stable, secure and available.
- Work with senior engineers and architects to implement cloud designs and technical standards.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, including deployment processes, support procedures and infrastructure configurations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation.
- Participate in peer reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure engineering work follows organisational security, governance and change management requirements.

- Administration, configuration and support of Microsoft Azure environments.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Development and support of CI/CD pipelines.
- Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Azure compute and storage services.
- Monitoring and operational support using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights.
- Supporting cloud services across development, test and production environments.
- Troubleshooting deployment, infrastructure and application issues.
- Source control and branching practices using Git.
- Working within structured release, change and incident management processes.
