Azure Infrastructure / Tenant Engineer

Location: Primarily Remote (occasional travel to Client Site)

Inside IR35 £625.00 - £660.00 pd

Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance

Eligibility: Candidates must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last 5 years.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure / Tenant Engineer to join a cloud-focused team responsible for managing and evolving enterprise Azure environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Azure specialist with strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, cloud infrastructure, automation, and governance. You'll play a key role in supporting cloud migration initiatives, managing tenant operations, and ensuring Azure environments remain secure, scalable, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including users, groups, application registrations, and licensing.
  • Design and support cloud migration projects, including tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Implement and maintain Azure governance, including RBAC, management groups, policies, and tagging standards.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar technologies.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
  • Monitor and improve security posture using Microsoft Defender and security best practices.
  • Implement least-privilege access models and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Optimise Azure performance and cloud spend using Azure Advisor and cost-management tooling.
  • Support enterprise Azure networking, compute, storage, and monitoring solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience managing enterprise-scale Azure environments.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, including:
    • Single Sign-On (SSO)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    • Conditional Access
    • Identity and Access Management
  • Experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and monitoring services.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using:
    • PowerShell
    • Azure CLI
    • Python
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Knowledge of Azure governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience supporting cloud transformation and migration initiatives.

Desirable Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

What We're Looking For

You'll be a proactive and technically strong cloud engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and driving automation. You'll be comfortable working independently, collaborating with stakeholders, and helping shape secure and scalable Azure environments.
