Azure Platform Engineer – 3-month contract – Fully remote
Rate: £550 - £650 p/day
Working Pattern: Fully remote
My Client is looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer is required to support the design and build of a new Azure platform, with a strong focus on Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and hybrid infrastructure.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for designing, building, and deploying Azure infrastructure while working closely with architects to deliver a scalable, enterprise platform.
This Azure Platform Engineer role is fully remote.
Skills required from the Azure Platform Engineer:
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building Azure platforms.
- Azure architecture and platform design experience.
- Proven experience deploying Azure VMware Solution (AVS) would be beneficial.
- Strong VMware infrastructure experience, including (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX).
- Experience migrating or integrating VMware workloads into Azure.
- Strong Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity (Entra ID).
- PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
- Experience producing technical documentation and following design standards.
- Experience implementing Omnissa Horizon in a hybrid Azure environment would be beneficial.
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) would be beneficial.

- Design, build, and implement enterprise Azure platforms from the ground up.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
- Migrate and integrate VMware environments into Azure.
- Work with architects and technical stakeholders to ensure platform designs align with business and technical requirements.
- Support the implementation of a hybrid Omnissa Horizon environment within Azure.
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to platform best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues throughout implementation.
