Meritus Talent is supporting a leading aviation maintenance organisation in the North East with the recruitment of experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineers on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking for long-term stability, varied base maintenance work, and the chance to work within a growing Part 145 environment. We're looking for B1s who hold both Airbus A320 Family and Boeing 737NG type ratings and are passionate about delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality maintenance.
The Opportunity
As a Certifying B1 Engineer, you'll play a key role in the delivery of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring aircraft are maintained and released to service in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Supervise maintenance teams
- Provide technical leadership on the hangar floor
- Work closely with planning, quality, and operations teams

- Certify aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with your company authorisations.
- Supervise and support maintenance technicians during base maintenance inputs.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with approved maintenance data and regulatory requirements.
- Allocate tasks effectively and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
- Complete and review maintenance documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Promote the highest standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship.
- Support quality audits and regulatory inspections when required.
- Ensure tooling and equipment are used and maintained correctly.
- Identify and report safety occurrences, hazards, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Liaise with planning, CAMO, quality, and operational teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Champion Human Factors principles and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Essential Requirements

- UK CAA Part-66 B1 Licence
- Current Airbus A320 Family Type Rating
- Current Boeing 737NG Type Rating
- Recent certifying experience within a Part 145 environment
- Strong knowledge of Part 145, Part M, Part 66 and continuing airworthiness requirements
- Previous experience supervising maintenance teams during base maintenance activities
- Human Factors (HF), EWIS and SFAR88 training
- Strong documentation and communication skills
