Social Security Scotland’s Fraud and Error Resolution Unit (FERU) are seeking a Business Support Officer on a Temporary Promotion or Temporary Level transfer basis for 6 months. You will be at the heart of our team, providing comprehensive support, primarily to our Head of Fraud and Error.

You will be responsible for prioritising and organising all communication flows between our Senior Leaders and wider stakeholders, ensuring everything runs smoothly and in line with agreed compliance and business processes. You will also lead the Business Support team including direct line management of two Business Support assistants.

This is an excellent opportunity that offers an interesting and varied workload, including the opportunity to work with colleagues across the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Unit head in the delivery of their work by the strategic management of their diary, mailbox, briefings, correspondence, engagement and travel arrangements
  • Monitor, distribute or directly deal with queries from internal and external colleagues as well as key stakeholders
  • Lead the Business Support Team (and directly line managing 2 x Business Support Assistants) to provide multi-function support on a range of activities and coordination services to support the work of the Unit.
  • Provide assurance to the Unit Senior Leadership Team on several compliance elements
  • Ensure relevant documentation is consistent, up to date and fit for purpose
  • Liaise with the Divisional Business Support Network, as appropriate, gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting information to colleagues
  • Provide secretariat services for a range of important meetings on behalf of the Unit and building strong relationships with internal and external colleagues

Hybrid Working

Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, and we offer a range of flexible working options, depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location.
