The Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a rotary-wing operation based in Scotland, working on the H145. Working a highly attractive 14 on / 14 off rotation, you will be responsible for carrying out and certifying aircraft maintenance within the scope of your company authorisations, supporting both the engineering and day-to-day operational requirements of the aircraft. Duty periods run between 08:00 and 18:00, however the role is driven by the requirements of the contract, meaning there will be periods of downtime and rest throughout the working day rather than continuous work across the full duty period.

- Undertake line and base maintenance activities as required.
- Complete all aircraft maintenance tasks safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required standards.
- Analyse and interpret aircraft technical information.

- Liaise with operational crews to ensure aircraft defects are accurately defined and recorded.
- Supervise engineering and support personnel where required.
- Support the wider operation through aircraft towing and movement, ground handling, fuelling and marshalling activities.
- Carry out aircraft and company vehicle cleaning as required.
- Support the loading and unloading of aircraft luggage and ballast where required.
- Maintain aircraft safety and security on the ramp in accordance with CAP642.
- Carry out daily inspections and maintenance of allocated ground support equipment.
- Support fuel operations, including bulk fuel delivery acceptance, daily water checks and general fuel equipment maintenance.
- Manage on-site consumables and parts in accordance with company procedures.
- Undertake technical crew member duties linked to HESLO operations.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
